Russians owed a debt to the Italian Govt and were shrewd enough to pay it off in cr*p steel. Anyway, I still have the Sud that's been in my family now for 43 years and yes, I had it partially restored. Still have to keep an eye on the rust but the rest is still going strong. A big statement, but the original Sud handles so neutrally it is hard to pick it is front wheel drive. Front drive cars today are so front heavy they really lean on their outside front tyre when cornering. Not so, the Sud. It really requires a forgotten technique that makes you think ahead when driving her, from when to change gears to trying an overtake. The aim is to maintain momentum. She's a beauty with so many memories. Such a sweet revving little motor too. She'll never be for sale so long as I'm around. Hopefully, one of my sons will become her custodian.
