Intermediate clean pictures and then clean enough to start removing valves. Given the engine had *some* compression I was still relieved to find on #8 that the valve seats are just a bit corroded rather than pitted and the valves seem like they are in decent shape. Will still give them a spin in the drill to check they are not bent but I feel like they will lap back in with no problems. Heads still are not clean enough for me though, once I get all the valves out I will give them a hot soapy bath. In the mean time they are covered in WD40 to get the moisture off them while we work. Timing chain is toast. I knew we had to replace that anyway. Camshaft (not shown) is a lot worse than I thought.
