The Force 7 must be judged a huge loss not just to Australia but to international motoring. A high percentage of the tiny number built seem to have found their way to the UK and I wonder who and why that has happened. This shot of my first race car was taken during a reverse direction exercise at the late, lamented Oran Park. The second car immediately ahead of it was my second race car, the quirky little Suzuki Swift GTi. Neither of these cars had the remotest need of power steering. The Alfetta with very little tweaking was one of the sweetest handling cars I have ever driven. And it was a marvellously Italian-style colour named Beech, for the tree.
