Allard was another early crossbreed. Sidney Allard, who is the only person to win the Monte Carlo Rally in a car built by himself, used either Ford, Cadillac or Jaguar engines. The Monte Carlo Saloon was offered with either a 5.42 litre Cadillac V8 or a 3.5 litre Jaguar engine. The J2R was Cadillac powered, while the P1 came with the side-valve Ford V8.
