I restored one for my parents back in the mid 1990's. It was white with a red interior when they bought it and ony 54,000 miles on it. We got the dash redone, new red carpet, Uticolour repaired and recoloured recoloured the top of the door trims. The exterior was re painted in white with just a tiny hint of red tinter so the car was pink but ever so subtle about it. The engine copped a red paint job to match the interior and also a fair amount of it was sent off to the chrome platers. Finally it was fitted with refurbished XE S pack wheels and 12 slotter hubcaps. This is the only photo of it that I can find. Clearly it was part way through the makeover. The previous owner had primered it ready for paint but had primered over crows feet so I had a lot of rubbing back to do. Unfortunately it was sold to someone in Tasmania in the late 90's and never seen again. Your featured car seems to be missing an aluminium strip and the "stars" from the boot lid. Were they introduced in 1963?
