You're right dar1974. Brock was in Europe that year racing the Porsche 956 with Larry Perkins so he would have been able to see the stunning day-glo effect with his own eyes rather than on TV. I think that's why it had such an effect on him and why he wanted it for his own race cars. On reflection I reckon Phillip Morris would have insisted on it anyway given it appeared to be a global change for Marlboro race liveries.
