Three on the floor for the 100E. Cold morning starts (most mornings in London were cold) with choke full out. Wheezing sound as she fired up. Into first and then almost immediately into second. Get to peak revs and then drop her into top. Double wheezing from choke and engine as she gathered speed. The engine was virtually unburstable. When the 105E Anglia was introduced in 1959, Ford then gave the Prefect all the running gear of the 105E, so you got a slightly old-fashioned four-door car if you didn't like the looks of the New Anglia.
