He did indeed Steve, in the immediate aftermath of the Brock/GM-H divorce in early 1987 when Moffat and Harvey had just been sacked by HDT. Brock was in huge financial strife and quickly selling things to keep HDT afloat, including the brand new VL Group A that the team had built for the 1987 season. Moffat bought it through an intermediary and with limited Rothmans backing he and Harvey competed in several rounds of the inaugural World Touring Car Championship that year. A very good car it was too (below), winning the opening round at Monza when all the BMW M3s were disqualified and finishing a fine fourth in the rain-soaked Spa 24 Hour.
