I spoke too soon (not the first time!) about the Canadian Frontenac. It was made in Canada for the Mercury dealers to have something to sell in the low cost field. Canadian Ford dealers already had the Falcon. There were 9,536 Frontenacs sold in 1960 before it was replaced by the Mercury Comet in 1961. The Falcon sold slightly better, but both it and the Frontenac easily outsold the Corvair and Valiant.
