The 1986 Holden Commodore VL was well-served and saved by the Nissan straight six and associated gearboxes. In naturally aspirated and turbocharged states they are still highly desired. Conversely, placing the Holden Starfire four cylinder in the 1979 Toyota Corona was not well received.
