Ford needed to build a Coupe. A 351GT Coupe! And it needed to be a HO (High Output) set up. They had Falcons with 400+kw 40 years ago so Power wasn't an issue. It just needed to be 1-Tough Looking, 2-A New Aussie Muscle car, and 3-Not a 4 Door Family Car!
