Sunday cruise with my mate and his Yamaha XS650. Wind is still a problem but the roads today allowed us to open up the taps a bit. The different sounds of the two different kinds of twin cylinder engine make for an interesting car park comparison - the XS650 more like a british bike, sounding wonderful but different to the Guzzi. I'm only 2 hours in I suppose but feeling more confident especially in corners and at intersections. It doesn't quite feel natural, I still have to mentally check off the things to do before coming to an intersection (gear down, brake, head check, come to a stop) but at least I feel a little less awkward doing it. The Guzzi has far more power than I gave it credit for. Yesterday I hardly scratched the surface. Today, despite my mate riding slowly for me I ended up giving the bike a few more oats here and there and the impressive surge it's capable of is intoxicating. I can't imagine what a properly powerful bike is like. The classic bikes garnered quite a bit of attention today too and quite rightly - they look good!
