American Graffiti is also one of my all time favourites - for the music as well as the cars. The first movie I ever saw in my life was Genevieve in 1953. Coming from the bush where there were no cinemas (or TV), my mum took me to a matinee in Melbourne. Apparently I watched the whole movie from the balcony rail, shouting at the screen for the Darracq to get past the Spyker. Far removed from Ferrari, or Ford V Ferrari, which I still enjoy, but Genevieve to me hasn't dated (much) and I still get it out and play that wonderful scene of Kay Kendall playing the trumpet. By the way, the brand new Morris Oxfords on the truck, the Allard, Austin A70 and Ford Consul are now much older than Genevieve was at the time. Genevieve was less than 50 years old and could hardly handle traffic in 1953, I know of an A70 that is used nearly every day....
