That '67 Eldo has style however it is the 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado that paved the way for it. In the mid sixties, General Motors were the style leaders. Look at a 1967 Chev, a cheap car, and see those knife creases in the body which the current lot of designers are putting more and more into their aero cars today. See that giant W shaped front end with the thrusting prow and a bumper bar that says what it does. There is a flight deck for a bonnet and the boot goes on forever. That coke bottle hip says style with a capital S. Those tail lights blind anyone following too closely. Well, the passenger area was ridiculously small for the size of the car, brakes and handling could possibly be a little better but you had plenty of power, even with the air on, the seats were like lounge chairs and they loped along eating up the highways. And they were cheap. Who notices an old Mercedes sedan today but you can't miss a 60's GM car in the traffic. They were designed to sell and this they did, very well. New Cadillac's are a lot like Mercedes' now but the company went into bankruptcy. Maybe GM buyers don't want a Mercedes.
