The 1955 Chevrolet which heralded the arrival of the revolutionary small block V8 is a standout in terms of both design and engineering. Very little was carried over from 1954 with a new lighter chassis featuring anti-dive geometry and a ball joint front end supporting lower and sleeker body designs which captured the the essence of 50s design. The look was right, the small block V8 was certainly right enabling Chevrolet to instantly shake off its conservative image for one of style and performance. A true 50s icon.
