Hi, I did not know that the Vitesse was ever released in '62 with the 2 ltr motor, the casting mounts on the 2 ltr's at the time Fitted into the first Triumph 2000 mK1 were as Vangard in castings, and you couldn't mount the 2Ltr motor into a herald/vitesse at that time without some homegrown brackets, I got my first Triumph Herald in 1969 and a fair bit to do with them back in those day's, (AMI Port Melb and Belfours Geelong)secondly they would never had fitted the 4.1:1 diff as it was inherently weak (broke halfshafts) even with the 1147 spitfire. Triumph uprated the diffs around '64 with heavier Half shafts( inside the diff). Also the Mk2 star chassis didn't come out until '63 here in Australia. Yours indeed must have been a special? I notice roof removed from Coup'e be sure to fit the anti burst lock system that Triumph fitted to all convertibles, body flex will in occasions allow the doors to fly open when going around corners if not fitted.
