Apparently the HK factory fitted options was a nightmare for GMH and its dealers as the production lines were geared up to make as many similar cars as they could without adding all sorts of variations. Easier for BMC and Chrysler to let the dealer make money out of accessories at point-of-sale. The only variation of an 1800 or 1100 was the choice of manual or automatic. No standard or base models either. By the way SC - it's generally recognised that the $3 or $4 dollar difference was the beginning of the end for Chrysler as suddenly, the Valiant lost that slight exclusivity of the other two.
