Chrome Yellow is still at the top. Taking about it to my daughter this morning, she said that with this car I do not have to be reserved so go with the CY. She is correct. Jgsheehan, that bench looks good and after reviewing the video that you linked to I was thinking of something similar. Houndstooth upholstery cloth is inexpensive from a fabric supplier and the same with black vinyl and a heavy duty sewing machine. You can see where this is going. I may have to utilise my wife's and mother in-law's sewing skills or advice. PonyRider, when I have had a choice, my recent cars have had light coloured interiors after years of dark interiors. The houndstooth cloth will help break up the darkness along with a light coloured roof lining. That is also the reason that I went with the silver fish-scale instrument fascia rather than the usual grey/black. Too much black can be overbearing. Cj429, there is a certain anxiety and excitement going on. I think that I will do some short drives on the driveway first to make sure the basics function before progressing from there. I have had good advice from here and when my brothers and extended family inspect it each week. The more eyes, the better. Steve, all my cars are so different with the controls. From the beginning it was mainly column manual, floor manual then automatics. In lapses of concentration, I revert to looking for the column lever, and as we are of similar age, you can imagine how long ago that was. The Tesla drive control lever on the right sometimes 'throws' me if I go to use it as an indicator. Nothing bad happens, it just sends out an alarm. Then, after the Tesla, it is annoying that the other cars won't self-steer and do all of the other magic Tesla things.
Sounds great! With the bench, personally I’d try and incorporate a folding armrest (cup holders?) in the middle piece. Below is the colour of our TA 1300 (2door). Looked just like this one. We thought it was mustard, and hence my preference for Chrome Yellow!
