I've survived the Easter break, but am yet to contribute further on this Commodore thread ... it looks like I'm not the only one who holds a candle for the Commodore SL/E from the VB/VC/VH era ... somewhat forgotten and rare beasts of the period were the thirty only VH SL/Es built in 1981 by HDT for Holden as specific dealer acknowledgements relating to sales performances in 1980 ... referred to as The Top Thirty, these cars were produced in a semi-reverse Cabernet/Mercury Shadow Tone finish with a two-tone velour and cord interior and sporting running gear from the VC HDT Commodore, with a modified 5.0 litre V8, TH350 automatic transmission and a 2.60:1 LSD rear end ... these cars are further regarded as unusual because they carry no official HDT build plates. I've attached a couple of images here which shows one of the survivor cars, but featuring non-original Simmons wheels ...
