Thanks for those video links, glenpinn. Some superb machinery! You guys might also be interested to read my Capri review recently published at the Shannons Club, which includes the RS2600/RS3100 and their racing histories: https://www.shannons.com.au/club/news/su...
Thanks Mark, i will read that topic tonight, but i did get as far as the release of the European "Capri ll" between 74 and 78, which was made as a hatchback, so this would explain why the mean and noisy turbo charged Capri that i had the pleasure of detailing and driving back in the late 80's in Frankston had the hatchback on the rear. I thought it was a customized job, as the car itself was heavily modified with the front and rear spoilers, flared guards, and the super hot turbo engine. I do vividly recall overtaking Murray Carter (the former well known touring car driver) in that Capri one time on one of the back roads in Dandenong or Frankston while i was out "test driving"the car. EDIT: i also noticed in the photos of the Capri cars in your Thread that there were a few subtle body style changes in the English released Capri ll (74-78) from the earlier Capri cars, which i highlighted in the Image below. The curve on the rear where they added the hatchback seems to have been flattened more, the small curved side window has a different shape, and the Capri ll seems to have slightly bigger flares around the wheel arches.
