You might want to add to your options spending afew days cleaning the paint with a good wash, wax and polish, with a liberal dose of old fashioned elbow grease ... The recipe ... The car will need to be washed three times; 1st a general hose down and washdown with a good wash that makes lots of suds; 2nd a wash down in a mix of sudsy warm water with a "splosh" of kerosene added, the kerosene will NOT damage the paint; it will remove any built up bird and bug c*** and baked on road grime and tar splashes 3rd a final washdown with a warm sudsy wash, hose off as you go, and let the water flow gently over the body of the car. Next, dry down with a"soaker" towel, an old terry towel is best, or chamois and then let air dry for several hours to dissipate remaining moisture. Preparation is key; first steps to rejuvenating the paint, use a very Mild cutting creme, Repo in the brown bottle is best and has been around since before Adam was a boy, this will take any build up of micro rubbish embedded in the paint, it's better than a clay bar, and wont take the paint down ... next, the polish, two stages, first stage polish is with a 50/50 blend of NuFinish and Turtle Wax, both in their own right excellent products, combined they're unbeatable, work from the top down, in sections, roof, front fenders,bonnet, doors, etc ; apply with soft cloth, an old T-Shirt is ideal for this being soft and pliable and non scratch, do this twice, second time with a hand held buffer with sheepskin pad, and only the weight of the machine being sufficient pressure applying long strokes, ... final polish with a clear Glaze, Selley's make a good Glaze product, ... ongoing maintenance with Mr Sheen, yep, no kidding.
