WE MADE WORLD CLASS MUSCLE CARS SUPERIOR TO AMERICAN CARS ..not family cars... Have our cars improved yes...lets remember the corvette had 4 wheel disc brakes in the 60,s ..the Monaro 327 well that is a US engine...I love Australian cars but I wont blow up our tires when the American cars were far superior Muscle cars in the 60,s and 70,s.. You are right about the HO but also the name GT had been used in 65 in the US the XR in Australia came out 67 used the lower powered Mustang engine 289 the beautiful steering wheel was from a Fairlane....Bunkie Knudsen at Ford Australia in the 70,s who yes was American preferred to have his personal XW GT fitted with a 428 Cobra Jet and C6 auto back in the US...
