apparently leo gohagen tested two stubby wheel based vg utes (shortened to charger chassis specs), one with the six cylinder hemi, one with the 340 v8. leo said the 340 was the fastest thing he drove (at that time) including gt's in a straight line, but gave away alot of time in the corners due to the extra weight of the small block. thus hurting brakes and suspension components a lot more than the lighter 6 hemi. he told me that the 6 cyl was just under 2 seconds a lap faster than the 340. if only aluminiun heads and other components where availableback. i wonder if that would have made a difference.
