After a hit and run a few years ago, I installed dashcams in all of the cars in my family. Apart from their use in a crash, I have used them to have another look at near misses and other events. A couple of weeks ago when driving the Land Rover, the six of us in the car were startled when something hit the windscreen with a very loud thud. Looking back at the video, it seems that a branch fell out of a tree, hit the windscreen end-on and then broke up. At 70km/h, I only saw the flash of a fist-sized something. Fortunately the car and us were unmarked.
