Which reminds about Ford's return serve under the same Button car plan - the Ford Maverick. Very hard to take an Australian motoring icon like the Falcon ute and try to convince everyone it was actually a Nissan. Same applied to the iconic Nissan Patrol re-badged and marketed as a Ford. This kind of model sharing was good in political theory, but a nightmare for automotive marketing departments.
