Yes, the Falcon very nearly took the honours in the 1964 Monte Carlo Rallye, but was just pipped by Paddy Hopkirk and Henry Lindon in a Mini Cooper S, the first of three (four?) victories in the Monte.. By the way SC, Rex Lewis, who co-drove one of the XKs worked with me at Ampol in the '80s. I don't think they did very well, as Peugeot and Mercedes seemed to dominate the East African events.
