1965 was also a good year for North American-based cars in this country. It was the first year that GMH officially gave us the Impala, and in 4 door hardtop style, as well as the Pontiac Parisienne, again in either sedan or hardtop forms. Dodge was no longer a Dodge - it was a Plymouth Fury with Dodge nameplates, and it seemed they were fitted out with a few more luxuries than they had previously. Same with the Ford Galaxie nameplate - even though it had been officially released here in 1964, the '65 seemed to be a more prestigious car. The Rambler was also continued in sedan and wagon versions. Notable here was the artwork from Chevrolet, Pontiac and Rambler; all three were reversed or altered images of ones used in the US - you can see the Rambler was originally a two door sedan. One motoring journalist, the late John Weinthal, who had driven most of them was of the opinion that the Galaxie was the best of them.
