Was just reminded (thanks to Flat4's earlier post) of the potent little Renault 5 Turbo, another WRC homologation special which was active in Group B. Front-engine-front-wheel-drive became rear/mid-engine-rear-wheel-drive in this turbocharged four cylinder pocket-rocket. Like the Lancia 037, the R5 Turbo was formidable on twisty tarmac events like the Tour de Corse, held on the French island of Corsica, which it won twice during the Group B era. Must be a thrilling thing to drive on the road. I can think of several snaking strips of bitumen up in them thar hills (Dandenong Ranges) where it would be right at home!
