Hi PonyRider, building an EV from the ground up was Tesla's masterstroke. It was built without compromise to be an EV and for this reason it is only recently that others have been able to almost catch up. One advantage that Tesla have is good synergy between the different disciplines within the company. The Tesla Octovalve is an example and the new Plaid has a great example. A structural front crossmember is also the reservoir for the air suspension.
