The first M3 which was a stunning little pocket rocket on road and track and, off the beaten track, the mighty R80 G/S variants used in the world famous Paris-Dakar Rally in the 1980s. Factory riders Hubert Auriol and Gaston Rahier won four Dakars between them on these magnificent BMW motorcycles, which featured enormous fuel tanks to give them the required range between fuel stops. That's one of the things I really admire about BMW - they make great cars AND bikes!
