Good Afternoon BentleyT. Some of the older members who lived in Sydney many years ago may remember a Morris Oxford Taxi Cab that notched up over One Million Miles (not Km's) it was the talk of the town back then ! Today I stumbled on this article: India finally abandons the Ambassador - Britain’s old Morris Oxford---The Amby, as the 50s style car is lovingly known, first appeared in India in 1957 when its production tools and machines were imported from Britain The last Hindustan Ambassador, once Britain’s Morris Oxford, has rolled off the production line in India For more than half a century the Hindustan Ambassador, once Britain’s Morris Oxford, has been one of India’s most recognised and loved icons – the stately carriage of prime ministers and taxi-drivers alike. But it finally drove smoothly into history on Saturday when its makers, Hindustan Motors announced the last model had rolled off its production line in West Bengal. ------ Isn't that amazing to think the old Morry was still being made in India until recently ?
