Madmuz, it looks like two motors but the canister on the left is the motor and the canister on the right is the DC/AC converter/speed controller. In between is the gearbox. The all-wheel drive Teslas, such as mine, have a similar but not identical unit at the front, for two in total. The upcoming hyper Model S Plaid will have two units at the back and one at the front for a total of three motors. I suppose now that the Model S has been on sale for 8 years there would be a few drivetrains around and they are available for purchase. If you ever have a chance to go to a Tesla store, they usually have a Model S 'skateboard' on display.
