Australian racing legend and Supercars broadcast pundit, Craig Lowndes, and his wife, Lara, will participate in the Shannons Adelaide Rally, November 8 – 10.

Driving a mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette, the Lowndes’ have entered the Shannons Adelaide Rally single-day Prima and three-day Main Tours. Additionally, they will take part in ancillary activities in the Gouger Street Party Strathalbyn Lunch Stop and Town Stage.

Craig, a seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner and three-time Australian Touring Car Championship champion, will also make a guest speaking appearance at the Prima Tour lunch event.

Earlier this year, he participated in the Finke Desert Race, racing a Chevrolet Silverado alongside co-driver Dale Moscatt. Although they won the prologue, they unfortunately bowed out of the famed endurance event in Central Australia.

Lara, on the other hand, brings previous rallying experience from her time with Peugeot in the World Rally Championship.

The Shannons Adelaide Rally, one of the largest tarmac rally events globally, features 30 stages over three days. The route winds through the picturesque Adelaide Hills, showcasing some of South Australia’s best driving roads.

Both the Prima and Main Tours cater to motoring enthusiasts, allowing owners of supercars and sports cars to unleash their exotic machines on closed public roads. While competitors must adhere to speed limits, they can utilise both sides of the road during closed stages.

The event is also spectator-friendly, providing dedicated zones and the opportunity for the public to get up close and personal with a diverse array of race and road cars, spanning various eras.

Football and motoring personality Charlie Dixon, who competed in last year’s edition behind the wheel of a McLaren, is a regular feature at the Shannons Rally Adelaide.
