On the 26tg May 2024, The Mini Owners Club of Queensland (MOCQ) will host a London to Brighton Mini run in Brisbane as a tribute to the London to Brighton Mini run in the UK for over 35 years.
As a tribute to this fantastic event, the Mini Owners Club of Queensland will recreate this run in Brisbane commencing from London road in Belmont, traveling in convoy to the Brighton Hotel in Brighton for lunch and a celebration of all things Mini.
At approximately 8:00am on Sunday 26th May 2024 the Mini Owners Club of Queensland will be meeting on mass at the end of London road, where it meets the Gateway arterial in Belmont. The MOCQ is expecting in excess of 20 historical and classic minis from all chapters of the club to participate in this inaugural event. It is also hoped that many non-club members will also attend this event with their minis (either historical, classic or modern).
The Mini run organised for this event will cross Brisbane from South
to West, to North and finally
East arriving at the Brighton
Hotel, 196 Brighton Terrace, Brighton at approximately 12 noon for
the
lunch. Some exciting highlights along the way include a
drive over the Captain Cook Bridge with
views of Brisbane city
and Southbank, Brisbane Botanic Gardens (Mt Coot-tha), drive over Mt
Coottha
past all TV stations, Samford Village, drive over Clear
Mountain, drive east across the northern
suburbs to Sandgate,
finally arriving at the Brighton Hotel.
For those not participating in the actual Mini Run, you are welcome
to join us for the activities at the
Brighton Hotel from 12
noon. There will be a show and shine event in the car park of the
hotel.
Trophies will be awarded to the show and shine winners,
with a commemorative badge given to
each car participating in
this inaugural run.
This will all be followed by a fantastic lunch (and
refreshments) on the terrace of Charlies Bistro at the Brighton
Hotel.
We are calling ALL MINIs across Australia to join us for
this event! Doesn’t matter if it is historic,
classic, or modern
mini, the MOCQ wants to see you there!
