History
Zimmer Motorcars Corporation was established in 1978. The idea for the Golden Spirit Motorcar was initially drawn on a napkin by Paul Zimmer and handed it to Bob Zimmer he's son to build. Only 1500 cars were made. I have been wanting to get a Mustang for a long time and always liked the old style mustang, But the wife didn't, she liked the modern mustangs, So when I came across the Zimmer and finally got one. The day it was getting delivered the neighbors 4 year old son seen it and started shouting “its batman's car, look its batman's car mum” I had to smile knowing I had something very difference.
Modifications
Beneath add-on fiberglass body parts that gave the Golden Spirit a 1930s facade was a Ford Mustang V-8 — including the Mustang’s entire center body section — with the front wheels pushed 42 inches forward on a custom sub-frame. The power-train remained in place, which meant a 5.0L engine 4 speed Automatic. But the inside was changed: Zimmer spiffed up the Mustang interior with Leather Recaro seats, Leather dash, 22 karat Gold Engraved Nardi wood-rim steering wheel, Tilt steering column, Power windows, Power steering, Remote side mirrors, Cruise control, Dual power seats, Central locking doors ,A/C, Premium AM/FM cassette radio with front and rear speakers, CD cassette storage, Wood grain trim, Tinted windows, Electronic boot release, Electronic fuel release, Anti-theft system, German hand cut crystal flower vases, Opera lights, Map lighting, Plush carpeting throughout the entire car and Boot, Front distance warning system, Car phone, Lumber support front seats.
