History
The bike began life as a project in a English bike shop about 30 years ago. The owner/mechanics made the bike from bike bits and pieces that they had available to them at the time. It eventually ended up with a mate of mine who I met at the Ace Cafe reunion in London in 1994. I had been chatting to him about getting another Triumph and he told me he had one if I was interested. Anyway I ended up buying the bike and I used it in England for 2 years until we returned to Australia. I brought the bike back to Australia and since then I have done quite a few things to it to make it a better scoot. I have owned it now for 22 years and it it is a good little bike to have a spin on now and then, my a*** can't take the hard tail like it could.
Modifications
The front guard, seat and tank (Peanut Tank) are the only items on the bike not Triumph. The bike is a "Bobber" style scoot and originally had a "Morgo" barrel kit on it, this made it a 760cc.The engine is now a complete 650cc Trophy engine and has been completely rebuilt to stock. The front end is completely stock and is off a 1969 Trophy with a Twin-leader brake system. The front wheel is stock except it has a Spanish Alloy rim (Looks Great). It has a hard tail frame which has been raked, the front part of the frame is off a 1966 Trophy, the hard tail section is off a 1955 Triumph Thunderbird with matching wheel. All the welding and extra strength plates have been done very well and the frame is very strong. The bike is 7 inches longer than a stock Triumph and 6 inches lower. The bike handles really well except for the fact that it's a hard tail.
