History
Car is a early November 2014 'build', and according to vin # data and customer order sheet, was one of the first cars of the FG-X line that used up the remainder of the FPV engine/transmitions combos that were left over from the last run in the previous 2013-14 FPV builds. However, it's 'compliance build date' is March 2015. Which is marked on the A Pillar as per normal.
Car goes exceptionally well, and when compared to 2 other test drives, this one has a beefier sound and punch in it. So obviously 'something' happened in its production.
I purchased the car as a demo in October 2016 !!. With just 2040Klms on the clock. Apparently the original purchaser reniged on the purchase, through a dealership in The Central Coast. It was then shipped to Dominelli 's Victorian offices, then to their main NSW Kirrawee Showroom for a small period.
The car finally was given to the sales manager at Dominelli's Rockdale Nissan Dealership, but as soon as he received it, it was placed up on CarSales. I received an instant notification that a car was available through my 'wish list', went straightbaround on the 25th October, laid down the deposit, came back a few days later with balance and took it home. Didn't even test drive it.
It just felt 'right'. And it's been right since then I've put 2460klms on her since October. Enjoying it every time. The car is pristine, still has all its parts number tags and 'chalk marks' on it. Never seen any rain, and is as clean underneath as the day she rolled off the freight trialer.
I'm exceptionally happy with her, a CarBra is about to go on her, in the same colour as the car, called Seduce, which is an aptly named colour.
Modifications
Currently she's off-the-shelf Supercharged Miami. After some exception data digging, these motors are very potentent items, especially those that FPV sent to Herod Engineering.
What's coming;- a CarBra to protect the paint, a set of staggered 8.5"x20" and 10"x20" Coddington rims, and shod with 255x35x20 and 305x30x20 Continental Sports 5P's which have just come out in first place in the 2017 Motor Magazines tyre tests.
She'll then cop a 2" lowering via Heasman Suspensions at St Peters. Still using SACHS shocks and coils.
The rear will require a Herod Enginerring rear lower control blade replacement with special bushes. This allows the wider rims AND tyres so Ji interferes is encountered.
I've given it a TuffSeal Paint Sealant treatment and wax, which I now do for others wanting a great finish. But without the huge cost some retailers charge.
All up, it's a great car, and certainly gets the stated 0-100 in 4.9 - 5.1 time frame. Certainly no slug.
