History

Owned since 2010, (back on the road Nov 2022 after 4+yrs off the road) has had a 1uz (never completed, idea was to have it supercharged prior to NCOP changes not allowing this to be legal in QLD), mild SR20 (Poncams, S15 T28 and S15 injectors).

Idea after the SR20 (which was horribly unreliable) was an LS2 (since I'd just sold my cammed Chlorophyll VE SS S2 Redline Ute) and missed my V8. Would eventually decide an LS2 was a bit much for what was always just a street car - still sometimes wonder why I didn't push through with this idea.

Already had the CA18 for a KE10 project I had a few years prior (the floor and pillars were buggered and ended up moving it on) and as mine is an 88 K's it originally came with a CA18DET in auto trim so seemed kind of cool to take it back to that.

The idea this time around was reliability with as new a built as I could afford, the power levels were a distance 3rd after gearbox/rear end reliability also.

Engine bay was tidied up and bay partially resheeted due to leaking battery damage, old cooler pipe setup (which is now mounted under the radiator support) etc.

Rear subframe was removed along with any remaining factory arms and were gusseted and resprayed. Entire underbody was stripped, repainted and deadened also.

Body originally painted Toyota 1E6 Grey Mica and rear guards flared by Adrenalin Autostyling

Years later front guards modified +25 by Cameron's Bodyworks to accommodate 9 or 9.5 wide fronts on 255/265 tyres. Not big on the stretched tyre thing, though a square sidewall look is a difficult look to pull off on S13 Silvias.

Modifications

Engine -

CA18DET - Arundel Cylinder Head build, block and head dipped and cleaned, bores honed etc.

- Koyorad 52mm Radiator (SR20), Fenix twin 12" fans and shroud, Fenix intercooler, home made piping throughout.
- ARP head and main studs, all bearings etc replaced
- Supertech Valves and Valve Springs
- CP Forged Pistons (9.0.1)
- Extended and baffled sump (Tomei baffle kit with vitron trap doors - built by myself)
- Garrett 2864 Gen 2 0.64 housing with IWG75 and 11+10psi springs with factory manifold and dump pipe (soon to change) with HPI dual downpipe into 3" stainless exhaust with Magnaflow resonator and rear muffler.
- Camtech reground factory camshafts 260/264 8.9 lift though have been swapped out for factory camshafts due to head noise. To be replaced with Tomei Poncam 256 or Procam 260.
- R200 diff, CA18 gearbox, Exedy HD clutch.

PRP R35 Coil kit and wiring loom

New body and engine harness (Link) by Al from Autospark. Air con wiring in the works.

Link Storm G4X with Lambda 4.9, Fuel and Oil pressure sensors with cutoffs.

Future mods are e-throttle (possibly), dump pipe replaced and exhaust tweak to tuck up even higher, Link Can gauge, different Oil Cooler setup, Tomei camshafts and dropping down 11psi spring to 7psi IWG spring to account for creep. LS1 alternator conversion also.

Currently tuned at 257hp due to stock camshafts being refitted, expecting on or just over 300hp once exhaust restrictions removed, better intake airflow rectified and a change in camshaft.

Suspension -

J's rear subframe to delete HICAs, R33 non turbo steering rack to delete front HICAS points.

Work 11r 17x9 +17 allround on 255/40/17 Nankang NS2R Semi

Silk Road RM-A8 coilovers 7kgF, 5kgR

SPL rear camber arms, Voodoo13 rear tie rods all other front and rear arms and knuckles fitted with polyurethane bushes and arms gusseted.

Interior -

Currently S14 front seats, plated for 2 seat only, ORIGIN rear seat delete to be flocked and fitted.

HUD Dash flocked, with full working HUD Dash working.

Future plans are either a Velo or Mesh type Recaros, doors cards and centre console retrim, interior plastic trims hydrodipped piano black and air con wired back in.

Still plenty to do but owned for 12+yrs now and love it more than ever.
Missed plenty on the mods list but it's a bit like that.
