History
This is a Genuine, Factory Ordered Callaway Twin Turbo Corvette. Its Number 50 build from 1988, and has the 'B2K' Code on the Spec sheet to indicate it was a factory build, as opposed to an 'after-purchase' conversion.
There were just a tad over 500 of these Monsters built.
The Callaway Conversion Process basically doubled the Base Corvettes' Cost, bringing it up to around US$60k. Back in the late 80's that was a LOT of money. There were several options that Callaway offered at the time, all being very expensive (around US$10K each in addition to the Twin Turbo conversion). Having forked out 60k for their new Callaway, Not many people actually purchased the Options. This car is Incredibly rare and lucky to have the 3 Big Options.
Option 1 - known as the '100+'. This 100+ Option comprised of A Manifold, Large Throttle Body, Modified FPR, Modified Cam, Ported & Polished Cylinder Heads, and PROM Chip - It added and Extra 100Hp (Hence the name). I was lucky enough to find and purchase one of these kits - right time and right place - Its one of only 12 or possibly 13 sold, making this car extremely Rare and Unique. I am yet to fit this Kit. Callaway themselves have acknowledged that it will still be recognized as a Genuine 100+ Car once the kit is installed.
Option 2 - The Callaway stamped 'Dymag' Wheels. Similar story - They were expensive and therefore very few were ordered.
Option 3 - Callaway 'Aerobody' kit. Developed especially for the C4 Callaway project and feature a distinctive Nose with 4 Air intakes that provide airflow to the Intercoolers.
It is signed under the bonnet by Reeves Callaway himself, as is the Leather-Bound Special edition (1988 builds only) Owners document folder kit. Callaway Owners would trade their Children for this !
This car, being No. 50 is the sister car to the Very Famous 'Sledgehammer', which was the very NEXT car that Callaway built (Number 51). This car set a world record for speed for a production car, which was only broken when the Bugatti Veyron came on the scene.
Watch a 10 min video of the ‘Sledgehammer’ here…. Quality is rather poor however

I am Looking for Expressions of Interest on this Car. If you are a collector of Rare Vehicles, You will struggle to find one of these with All the included Options, let alone finding it here in Australia !
