**** LIFE STORY WARNING ****
I bought this car from a mate i used to work with. We are both car enthusiasts and we would talk about our cars quite often at work break times.
It was well known that Tim loved his Z, from the car adventure stories and maintenance performed i gained an appreciation on the connection he had with his car.
The only problem was that ever since having kids, he never had time to drive it or the free cash to maintain the proper level of maintenance that a Z32 300zx needs.
Years later after i had changed jobs, Tim posted on Facebook that he was selling his car due to saving for his wedding.
At the time i was looking for a car i could keep stock in which was from the 90's era of Japanese sports cars to just appreciate for what it was in a close to stock form and thought that Tim's car would be the perfect example.
As one of my earliest experiences with imports, my dad used to own a Non turbo 300zx. It was almost like a batmobile compared to the common local automobiles that Australia had to offer. That nostalgic connection could be felt when i saw Tim's nice example.
After negotiating a price and two inspections later i am the owner of his 1989 300zx
It has been sitting for 12 years so it needs a decent engine overhaul of the usual belts, seals, fluids etc. all in which is booked in for by the end of the month to commence.
New rubber at all four, and some freshening up bits for its re-welcoming drives since its long stay in a shed.
Future plans at the moment is to keep it stock from its current form and have it presenting well with close to original parts as possible.
