History
One previous owner, a manager at Borg Warner Aust.
I purchased it in 1969,owned it for about 3 years,...... Damn!...Wish I still had it.
It was a rare early production "R" as it had the US vacuum controlled heater with dash mounted control buttons. These were on the opposite side of the instrument cluster to the transmission selector buttons of the Auto gearbox "R" Series.... This confused many people as it was a manual with a factory original floor gear shift, The gear lever was a work of art as it as it curled across the transmission tunnel and back over the leading edge of the bench seat .
Modifications
Original owner had fitted 6" wide rims and Good Year "Wide Oval" tyres which were all the rage in the ’60’s before low profile radials were widely available. He had also fitted Armstrong Heavy Duty shock absorbers.
I added a Lukey Sports exhaust system and lowered it by about 50mm..
