History
Purchased new in August 2016 with green/yellow wrap and factory front strut brace.
Daily driver full time for 18 months. Subsequently daily driver in summer months only.
Completed Adelaide Rally Prima Tour in 2016 and 2017, Main Tour in 2018, 2019 and 2021 (twice).
Competed regular track days at The Bend since September 2018, reducing lap times from 2:46 (standard OEM everything apart from front strut brace) to 2:28 in January 2021 (turbo, MCA’s, big brakes, 888Rs etc). Car is probably quite a bit quicker than that, but I’m not!
Turbo lifts power to around 160bhp (same as a 2.0) with a lot more torque, but tune cuts revs from 7500+ to 6500max, so it is actually less fun. Turbo is a street focused kit, resulting in overheating under track conditions. Still a work in progress.
Modifications
Added Goodwin Race underbody braces and Whiteline Grip kit in Oct 2017.
Rota RB 16x7 wheels added 2018, followed by Wilwood brakes (6 pot/4pot) and 195/50 Toyo 888R tyres on original rims, and then MCA Street Pro coilovers in 2019. Cravenspeed short shift kit and 17x8 Dekagrams too.
Having sorted the handling and braking, August 2020 saw the AVO turbo kit go on, necessitating an oil cooler and a radiator upgrade, followed by a cold air induction kit in Dec 2021. So far 2022 has seen 16x8 Enkei RPF1s arrive shod in 225/45x16 A08R tyres, but there is more to come…
