History
The Volvo C70 was a very expensive car in its day, at around $100,000 in 1998. The car was designed by Englishman Peter Horbury in 1996, in conjunction with Tom Walkinshaw. Horbury said of the C70 that Volvo threw away the box, but "kept the toy inside !"
The C70 was a very well equipped car for its day, with full leather interior, a/c, sunroof and a magnificent Alpine stereo with "Dolby Surround Sound". 4 wheel discs are just adequate for the 236bhp delivered from the 2.3 litre turbo T5 engine.
According to Volvo Australia, 252 1st generation C70 coupes (not convertible) were imported to Australia, making the C70 coupe an uncommon sight on Australian roads.
This C70 coupe is one of 47 in colour 426 Cosmic Silver Metallic.
