Allways have loved the Dato Utes since i was a you fella, but never had the chance to purchase one. 10 years ago i purchased a 1974 black Datsun1200 ute that was showing signs of its age. I drove it for a few years totaly stock standard and in the past few years have been building it up to be a car that starts and runs like a new modern car with a fuel ecomomy of 7 litres/100 and handles like a gokart. It is now my daily driver and i have never had such a fun car to drive.
Modifications
Motor is a SR20DET with a Garrett T28r Turtbo, Haltech engine management Computer, 900cc Injectors, aftermarket intake chamber,Thermo Fans, Intercooler, 3" exhaust system incorperating a Varex muffler, Gearbox is a Silvia 5 speed .The diff is a cut down R31 Skyline with a Kaaz 2 way locker. Skyline disc brakes front and rear. Suspension is fully adjustable coil overs on the front and a 4 link suspension and coil overs on the rear.Inside the cab the dash is hand made using checker plate and aftermarket gauges. For entertainment a Jenson Sterio is fitted with a 600 watt amp and 4x1000w speakers. The old rusted pannels have been replaced with new pannel and have repainted the car with a new metalic Pearl Grey paint job.
