History
My Yamaha XJR1300 was getting a bit too heavy, so I needed a lighter bike. In late 2019 I had an opportunity to buy a new bike. Having had such a great run from Yamaha bikes, it HAD to be a Yamaha; and the Tracer was a bike I liked. A dealer in south / west Sydney had some old stock (new, but 2017-plate) that they were selling at a huge discount on normal retail, so it was a bargain buy. My XJR was sold to a friend.
Modifications
I ticked a few options when I bought the bike. A Givi rack was necessary to carry my top-box, and I optioned an Akropovic exhaust system, to make it sound like a real bike, rather than a sewing-machine! Also help free up a couple of extra horses. K&N air-filter helped the breathing on the intake side.
I was disappointed with the ride comfort, so I bought a Hagon rear suspension unit, and also had a custom-made seat, supplied by MJM in Goulburn. (These last two items were added after the photo here).
