History
First owner had it for a year. Second owner bought it in 1983, and, set it up as it is. I bought it in early November 2024. The camper is self-contained, and, removable. I shall fit it out as a removable self-contained mobile workshop, so that either body can be fitted quickly.
Modifications
This vehicle was originally fitted with the factory 258 cubic inch six. The engine is the only part of the drive-train which has been changed. The winch is mechanically driven, and, is of 8,000 pounds capacity. Under the engine hood is an upgraded alternator, which, at 1,800 rpm, drives a welder and 240 volt power outlet. Storage spaces are everywhere. A UHF radio is fitted. It also boasts two water tanks (80 litres) which allows taps on either side, and, a 380 litre auxiliary fuel tank. The camper is comfortable, has plenty of storage areas, and, can be lived in. It has two deep-cycle solar batteries which are isolated from the battery in the engine bay, yet all batteries are charged by both alternator, and, solar panel. There is a canvas which can be rolled out from under the solar panel, and, attached to the bull bar to protect windshield, interior, and engine hood from sun, hail, sea-spray, etc.,. There are slots for tarps to be fitted to the rear, and, one side: one tray side can be set up as a kitchen bench. A fold out step gives easy access to the camper, half of the roof of which pops up, so that one can stand up. It has been well at up.
