History
Bought new from Apex Motors by a young, widowed Sydney model, who had two girls who went to school in Mittagong. She kept it 10 years then traded it on another new Cadillac Convertible. A bridge-building contractor from Mackay in Queensland bought it, then a bridge-building contractor in Dubbo, N. S. W. had it. Each ran up a lot of miles on it. I was on the lookout for one since the end of ‘74. My wife and I saw it in Dubbo whilst on our honeymoon in April ‘76. It was one set of traffic lights ahead of us. We tried to catch it, but the lights beat us. It was traded back to Apex motors, where a young Gold Coast salesman bought it to sell in the car yard in which he worked. I spotted it at Palm Beach Autos on a Friday night whilst on our way to just north of Brisbane. It was still there Sunday evening. I bought it without even starting it. It had 304,000 miles on it, it was tidy, but worn out. It was to be my car for a lifetime, so I didn’t care. This car is the only Cadillac Convertible which was sold new in Australia. It was converted to RHD by Cassidy of Sydney.
