Memories
This is our family’s 1934 Ford. My grandfather bought it brand new in 1934, after winning the lottery. He used it for every day use, including towing a caravan on holidays, until the late 1960’s, when he sold it to his son in law, my dad, for $1. My dad then drove it daily, until he decided to restore it in the mid 1970’s. Unfortunately my grandfather (Pop) passed away just before the restorations were finished, but my mum swears my Pop was there with them in spirit, late one night when we broke down on the Pacific Highway whilst on a club run. Dad fixed the 34 with a torch & piece of wire he found on the side of the road. Unthinkable, these days!! I fondly remember many car shows, club outings & dad cranking up the motor when the old girl had had enough. We still have our 34, she is due for another restoration, which my husband promises will begin this year. She will then be ready for more outings and family fun with my children!!!☺️
