Hi all and welcome to Issi - our genuine 1966 Mk1 Morris Mini Cooper S, named after her designer Sir Alexander (Alec) Arnold Constantine Issigonis. What a legendary car design, up there with the Model T Ford, the VW Beetle and the iconic E-Type Jag as the worlds most influential vehicle designs. You may know her from the original Italian Job Movie.
Issy, the Cooper S, is no normal Mini - as it was co-devleloped with John Cooper, designer and builder of Formula One cars, resulting in a road legal pocket rocket that in their 1966 debut, took out the first 9 places at Bathurst. UNBELIEVABLE - for a stock standard car bought from a dealer and driven to the track!
She presents well in the original Marine Blue body with Toga White roof - and yes, I added the bonnet stripes!
Modifications
Mostly original old girl with a few tweaks like minilight wheels and road racing tyres, sports cam, extractors, electronic ignition, full synchro box, thermo fan and a thumping 45DCOE webber carbie. She loves high revs and high speed due to the cam, carbie and high ratio diff.
