History
I have owned Sweet66 for twenty years and was my daily drive until the resto started in Jan 2000. It started life as as a sky blue three on the tree manual. I carried out all work on it with the exception of the upholstery and the ute made it back on the road in Jan 2002 and has had a few improvements since then.
Modifications
Sweet66 features a mildly worked 186 with a complete X2 setup including twin strombergs, twin headers and gauge. The engine has been fully ballanced, 202 crank fitted with Starfire rods, Yella Terra roller rockers, stage 4 Yella Terra head, custom grind cam and I have also fitted a Supra 5 speed to handle the extra neddies. The inside has a full HR Premier interior and I have also fitted intermittent wipers, cruise control, central locking and a hidden Pioneer Head unit with Focal Speakers, 6" splits in front, 5" coaxials up back and an 8" sub built in under the deck behind each seat. In the tray I have lined it with matching marine carpet and have built in compartments to house the battery and the three Fosgate amps that powers the sound system. The lid on the back is a Tuflid item which retains the tarp look.
The diff is a modified LJ Torana unit to help keep the 13 x 8" US Indy mags tucked in while the fronts are the same but 13 x 7" in size.
I have also fitted HR disc brakes on the front.
I have no plans on ever selling ute and is firmly entrenched as a family member now.
